I've had a camera in my hands as a serious "tool" since my senior year in High School in 1968. It was at Van Nuys High School, that I first heard about Art Center College of Design and decided that this was there where I wanted to study.
After I returned from a short stint in the US Army, I entered Art Center attending four back-to-back semesters. Then I started assisting at a variety of Hollywood photography studios, including Jay Ahrend's, Marshall Leffort's and Sid Avery's.
Around 1977, I was hired on as the Sr. Photographer at Walt Disney Imagineering which was "tooling up" for the EPCOTT & Tokyo Disneyland projects. I eventually left the full-time position and contracted out to Disney, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, Cousteau Society, etc.
When our children started coming, my wife and I moved the family to San Luis Obispo County along the central coast of California. It was a perfect place to raise our children.
During the last 23 years here in SLO, I've also contracted out as a Photo Feature Photographer for a local newspaper and as an assistant instructor for famous outdoor photographer, George Lepp, at his school of digital photography; it was here I discovered a passion for panoramas, infrared photography and all the tricks and nuances of Photoshop via George and a slew of his guest instructors.
Another influence for me was the late outdoor photographer, Philip Hyde. Philip was a distant cousin of mine and I have always found his work remarkable. His trailblazing was inspiring to me and still is. You view his site at:

Currently, I continue to freelance in the corporate and advertising spectrum, I also shoot an occasional magazine cover and sell some of my art.
I've found that I can now travel all over with my mobile photo studio for all kinds of corporate or advertising clients.
I do love the digital age!
